Barry Taberner

Trainer

Barry’s varied career commenced in the British Army, where he delivered training in arctic warfare, survival and cold weather injuries alongside driving instruction for the Hagglund.

He left the army and became an Operational Firefighter, recognised by his Fire Station Commander on completion of 27 years for his commitment and service. He trained as a Trauma Technician specialising in pre-hospital care and treatment of casualties, working in extreme situations/conditions. Barry also delivered training and assessed colleagues in Trauma Care, Basic Life Support and delivered Fire Awareness training to various members of the public.

Barry has also worked as a freelance trainer which enabled him to gain further experience working with a cross section of the public.

He has been delivering Quality & Safety training for TLE since 2019. He is very enthusiastic about his job role and considers this to be a privileged and a responsible position. He is very keen to learn and update his knowledge and practical skill levels by attending various forms of training. His aim is to continue to support all learners to the best of his ability.

Outside of TLE, Barry is lead vocalist of a group, he helped to form in 1979, he was instrumental in co-writing most of the material used. The group produced records and formed their own record label.

His experience demonstrates his versality, love and care of people and his desire to help and share which is reflected in his training delivery style and work ethics.
