Trainer
Helen started her career as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), working with adults and children with a variety of communication needs in a range of healthcare and education settings. She then moved into NHS management and later had roles as Transformation Lead, Regional Quality Lead and CQC Registered Manager. Each of these roles included an element of training delivery. In recent years Helen’s knowledge and enthusiasm for working in the fields of communication and personal development have drawn her into Learning and Development, delivering leadership and management training, and more recently quality and safety training to health and social care colleagues.
Helen’s aim is to deliver quality and safety training in a way that is engaging and supportive, whatever the learners’ backgrounds. Helen firmly believes that the best training can be transformative to those who receive it and is glad to be working with TLE with its reputation for excellence. Prior to becoming a trainer, Helen has been proud to be the driver of many improvement programmes in the health and social care sector.
Helen’s career has taken many twists and turns, always in interesting and worthwhile directions, she is a great believer in serendipity. Starting as a SLT, Helen is acutely aware of the importance of communication in supporting people in their lives and careers, so is gratified, after so many years and changes to still be in a field that values communication and learning.
