This learning covers the role of the fire warden. Having a designated fire warden at work is an important part of fire safety. The fire warden works together with the employer to ensure that fire safety measures and evacuation procedures are in place and effective.

Minimum/maximum learner numbers

A minimum of 4 and maximum of 12 learners are required for this training.

The aim of this learning is to provide nominated fire wardens with necessary fire safety awareness, information and understanding to fulfil the requirements of the role of the fire warden.

Learners will be able to:

  • Recognise fire hazards and how to prevent fire
  • Understand the behaviour of fire inside buildings and the behaviour of people during a fire incident
  • Understand how people and buildings are protected from fire and our legal duty to protect ourselves and others
  • Respond to any fire incident or fire alarm and undertake the day to day responsibilities of a fire warden, specific to your workplace
