The modules will give a greater understanding of the responsibilities, legal requirements and regulations for which CQC Registered Managers are accountable. The modules will help to ensure any registered locations are registered to provide the correct regulated activities and what types of situations the CQC should be informed of via the statutory notification process.

 

Applicable audience

This learning is suitable for those new, existing or aspiring CQC registered managers, and those supporting the CQC registered managers.

There are no pre-requisites required for this learning.

This learning is delivered by two eLearning packages.

Duration

This learning will take approximately 1 hour per eLearning package to complete.

Learners should have access to a computer, tablet or smart phone with an internet connection.

It is recommended that this learning should be completed every 3 years.

Understanding the role of a registered manager
  • This eLearning package is designed to help you understand the key responsibilities that are associated with becoming a registered manager. This includes the legal responsibilities as mandated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), as well as understanding the inspection framework and the application process.
The registered manager's role in practice
  • This eLearning will cover important topics such as how to prepare for a CQC inspection, understanding the new Single Assessment Framework, submitting statutory notifications and completing effective Internal Service Reviews

Learners will be able to:

  • Define the role and responsibilities of a registered manager
  • Explain what regulated activities are and when to send statutory notifications to the CQC
  • Know the role of the CQC and the legislation relevant to the registered manager role
  • Explain the CQC inspection framework and process
  • Recognise the steps in the application process of becoming a registered manager
